The Suez Crisis
Pearson (the secretary of state for external affairs at the time) had tried to find a diplomatic solution to the problem (the Egyptians seizing the Suez Canal) but he was forced to change tactics when bombs started dropping. This became the world's first, large-scale United Nations peacekeeping force to help with the issue. I chose this picture for the Suez Crisis because it shows Pearson trying to find a peaceful solution to the issue with the Suez Crisis. This is why Canada became so well known for their peacekeeping tactics because Canada's government was all on the same page.
