World War 2
World War 2 really started Canada's role as peacekeepers. I chose this picture to represent peacekeeping in WW2 because during this time St. Laurent (in the picture) came to the idea of peacekeeping. Though it was not an actual peacekeeping mission for Canada, it brought St. Laurent to the point of understanding that "law and order" was a very important aspect of the United Nations. He came to the conclusion that Canada would be a strong member of the UN, by peacekeeping.
